Pull up a chair and stay a while, won't you?

I LOVE family photo shoots! Time flies so fast that we rarely make time to actually capture our growing families, especially when young kids are involved! That’s why I was thrilled when Sarah asked if I would do a photo shoot for her family as a part of her Christmas present to them! The whole thing was a surprise for their mom right up until I met them at the park right by the high school we all attended together years ago. It wasn’t until immediately before the shoot that she told me about her parent’s upcoming move that I understood why the photo shoot was so incredibly important to them.

You know, moving away from home will do a lot to change how you perceive it. But coming back to your childhood home after a stressful semester in school, or a particularly difficult transition into adulthood can do a lot to re-center you and remind you of where you came from. But then, over time, you begin to realize that that has more to do with the people and the love that makes a house a home than the actual brick and mortar itself. So when the Euliss siblings found out that their parents would be moving from their childhood home and town, I can only imagine what that was like. The twins, Sarah & Taylor, will soon be graduating from college and pursuing dreams elsewhere, and Emily & David’s family was growing with two beautiful boys! What a better time to stop and capture the joys of their growing family in this very special season of life! Taylor told me once we were done that the best photo they’d gotten of their family was taken 2 years ago, and it reminded me, once again, of the importance of photography. Their lives will be changing drastically soon, but they will have the preciousness of this moment forever through photographs. As someone in a family who has kept up with family portraits, it is so powerful to have the whole family all together and happy for photos they can cherish for the rest of their lives. So thank you, Euliss family, for giving me the immense joy of photographing your amazing family!

Thank you, again, for allowing me to photograph your sweet family during this exciting time!

Love,
