I met Cody & Chelsea on a Thursday afternoon in December at the Cedar Lake Christmas Tree Farm for their Christmas-themed engagement session, and y’all these two did not disappoint! This sweet couple wandered through the trees with me in search of the perfect light in which to photograph their new engagement. All the while I lugged around the Holiday-themed props I got a Target (which is a real obsession by the way!) I love that my job allows me the chance to get to know such incredible people and to learn about their love story during our shoot together in preparation for their October 2017 wedding! These two have such a great story and I am so excited to share it with y’all!

They met just as two kids going to the same church and instantly became friends. Many years later, in high school, he asked her out at that exact same church. After dating for a while in high school, they went their separate ways before finding their way back to each other for good. And then, on October 21, 2016, exactly one year before their wedding day, Cody took her to the church once again to ask her a very important question. He told her to get dressed up and to get her nails done because he had a special day planned for them, and he blindfolded her in the bandana his mother had left to him following her battle with breast cancer. He drove her to the church where it all began and asked her to be his bride until the end.

I told you it was a great story now didn’t I?! And you see the pearls she’s wearing at the shoot? Those are from his mother as well, and she’s planning on wearing them on the wedding. Tears! Y’all I cannot get over how amazing these two are and I let them know every second of the shoot that I was totally obsessed with them. They rocked this shoot like no other and I cannot freaking wait for their wedding next year!
