David and I had the privilege of hanging with Lauren & Corey last week as we captured their engagement session on Lake Norman! When Lauren told me that they wanted to do the session on their boat, I was SO excited because I had never done an engagement session on a boat before and I was up for the challenge! And then they told me the story of how he proposed to her on that boat and how they’re on it all the time during the summer. It was so clear that the setting was so very “them” and was the perfect location for their engagement session!

She’s the sweet and sassy teacher and he’s the sarcastic and goofy teddy bear, and together they make a perfect match! I told them during our shoot that I get to photograph a lot of couples, and some have more natural chemistry than others, but their chemistry was so apparent!! They laughed and joked the whole shoot, and it made capturing their love SO easy and fun!! I was so into shooting that David had to spot me while I was leaning over the docks so I wouldn’t fall in, can you imagine?! But this pair was easy to love and to photograph, and we had a blast spending the evening with them! We chased the sunset around the lake until it dipped behind the trees in golden wonder.  After a long engagement that started on the boat, these two are finally tying the knot next April and we can’t wait to capture the moment they become husband & wife!!
