There’s something endlessly elegant about a black and white wedding, and Mary Scott and Joe’s celebration at Foundations for the Carolinas in Uptown Charlotte was the perfect blend of timeless style and heartfelt joy. From the bespoke details of her gown to the lively dance floor that closed the night, their Uptown Charlotte wedding was a true reflection of classic romance with a modern edge.

The Look: Classic Meets Bespoke Elegance

Mary Scott was absolutely radiant in her custom-designed wedding dress, a one-of-a-kind creation featuring delicate pearl appliqués created by the talented Meagan Kelly Designs. Her look was both romantic and timeless, and uniquely her! The bridesmaids complemented her perfectly in sleek black dresses, while the groomsmen looked dapper in classic black tuxedos.

The Venue: Foundations for the Carolinas

Set in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, Foundations for the Carolinas provided the perfect backdrop for this sophisticated celebration. The ceremony took place at sunset, bathing the couple in the soft, golden light that poured through the glass atrium. It was a ceremony not just about vows, but a true celebration of marriage, filled with laughter, tears, and the unmistakable warmth of two families coming together.

Cocktail hour was held in the art museum, where guests mingled among the exhibits, champagne in hand, surrounded by vibrant contemporary art—a beautiful contrast to the timeless color palette of the day.

The Reception: Candlelight and Celebration

As the evening transitioned into night, guests entered a candlelit reception that felt like stepping into a black-and-white dream. The tables were dressed with crisp linens, flickering candles, and classic floral arrangements of white blooms and greenery. Every detail was sophisticated yet inviting, creating a space that felt both luxurious and intimate.

Once the band started playing, the energy was electric. The bridal party kept the dance floor lively all night long, and Mary Scott and Joe led the charge—smiling, laughing, and soaking up every moment of their celebration.

A Perfect Ending

Mary Scott and Joe’s wedding was the definition of timeless elegance. It was a day filled with intentional design, emotional moments, and joyful celebration—a perfect reflection of their love story. Capturing their day at Foundations for the Carolinas was an absolute joy and a reminder of why classic weddings will never go out of style.
