After 40 years of marriage, Regina & Jack decided to reaffirm their love for one another on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains. They had planned the event for months and everything had come together beautifully. The leaves were at their brightest color, the weather was perfectly fall, and their love was as deep and true as ever. Together they held hands as they promised another 4o years to each other overlooking the rolling hills.
The day started with the collapse of a table (with the cake and everything) but that could not stop these two from grinning ear-to-ear about the day they’d planned! With a few clean-ups and retouching of the invincible cake (the thing barely had a scratch on it even after the fall!), they were ready to get to the reason they had traveled all the way to North Carolina from Alabama in the first place. Their officiant, Lisa, welcomed them and began to preach on the importance of marriage, love, and faithfulness. Tears filled her eyes as Regina looked at the man she’d spent her life with and was promising herself to once more. Together they lit their unity candle on a table filled with family pictures of their kids and grandchildren to honor their presence as they were not at the ceremony. They exchanged vows as they had 40 years ago, and placed the same rings on each other’s fingers that they’d worn throughout their lives together. The short but sweet ceremony ended with a kiss in the mountains followed by cutting of the indestructible yet delicious cake, and pouring of wine from their wonderful host. This vow renewal was absolutely beautiful, and it was so clear to me just how much in love these two really are. They were laughing non-stop the whole day, and were such a joy to photograph!
The beautiful table set up right before the table toppled!
Thank y’all so much for giving the opportunity to photograph this beautiful day!
Love,
