Southern wedding photographer for the fleeting moments that make life worth living. This blog is the home for some of my favorite things — from weddings, engagement sessions & more personal things.

Pull up a chair and stay a while, won't you?

i'm maggie

Laughter and friendly chatter filled the ballroom at High Point Country Club as people settled in their chairs. Music played softly in the background and sun poured into the tall windows. The music changed and the processional began as they awaited her arrival. With anxious eyes, Nebraska watched the door that opened and there she was. The love of his life walking down the aisle to marry him!! The emotion from the day caught up with him all in that moment and tears filled his eyes. This was the moment that God had been planning for them since the beginning. This was the moment they had been waiting for. This was the moment their forever would begin.

I love getting to know the couples I get to photograph because they’re in such an exciting season of joy! I first met Katie & Nebraska at their engagement session back in March and we got to know each other during our hour and a half shoot in Greensboro. But on their wedding day, I was able to know them through the eyes of those who know them best and what fun it was!! I learned just how faithfully they’d waited for this day and how much they trusted in the Lord throughout their friendship and then relationship. I also learned that everyone knew very soon after they started dating that this day was inevitable. Their immense love for one another was evident throughout the day. From praying together before the ceremony, to heartfelt letters and gifts exchanged, they were so anxious to finally be husband and wife! And the moment those doors opened and Katie and her father walked down the aisle to Nebraska, it’s like time stood still. Just as they were intentionally placing God in the center of their relationship, so was the ceremony. They worshipped together and were prayed over as they prepared to enter into married life. Sealed with the kiss, it became official! Mr. & Mrs. Wiggins danced the night away after hearing toasts (and raps) from their closest friends. They shared a final dance together before being sent off in sparkling fashion. The day was the perfect way for their happily ever after the begin! Congratulations you two!
